She loved her husband, she loved her son and she loved her music. She loved the role which she had in life a wife to Nathan, a mother to Jamie and an artist to the world, she came to the realisation she had it all, the perfect family, the perfect life and for once there was nothing that could ruin that, that was until she got the phone call, it was a normal day.....
“Jamie, sweetie get ready for school.” Haley said as she put on her earrings.
“But Chester,” Jamie protested putting on a pouty face which she was sure Nathan had taught him.
“Jamie I’ll take Chester to the vet on my way to the studio I promise.” She assured him.
“Pinkie swear?” Jamie said holding out his tiny little pinkie finger.
“Pinkie swear.” She said and nuzzled noses with him. “Now hurry Brooke will be here any minute.”
At that Jamie’s face lit up, Jamie had taken an instant liking to Brooke the moment he met her and Haley knew it, that’s why she chose Brooke as godmother she was like the girl version of Peter Pan, she was a kid at heart, Haley admired that in Brooke that no matter what happened she managed to cast aside the bad and focus on the good.
Jamie grabbed his satchel, gave Chester a quick squeeze and hurried out the door. “Love you Mama.”
“Love you Jimmy-Jam.” She smiled. She turned away from the door and made her way back to the bedroom, God, it was like having two kids, their lay Nathan fast asleep, she smiled to herself, she loved him just as much as she loved him in high school maybe even more, he’d become a husband to her and even more beautiful a father to Jamie.
